In a world were a 32 inch waistline is Han Solo, then KFC must be Boba Fett.
People love fried chicken, especially with 11 herbs and spices! People also love pizza, especially with pepperoni on it!
But will people love both at the same time? KFC sure thinks so!
Furthering my theory that KFC at one point hired Q away from MI6, KFC released information about their latest invention: The Chizza!
Per KFC: “It’s not pizza, it’s Chizza: two 100% white meat Extra Crispy fried chicken filets topped with zesty marinara sauce, melty mozzarella cheese and crispy pepperoni.”
In an age where fast food chains seem to be tripping over themselves trying to create ‘healthier’ options on their menus, in the spirit of the “Double Down”, KFC continues to be the throwback fast food chain, raising their middle finger towards cardiovascular fitness!
KFC even has such faith in America’s disregard for healthy eating habits, that they are planning a “Chizzeria” pop-up in New York City for the United States launch!
God, I love KFC marketing department. Who could forget the Low Odor Chicken, KFC Gravy Scented Candle or Fried Chicken Scented Bath Bombs!
For the record, despite my sarcastic nature, rest assured, I WILL BE TRYING THE CHIZZA when it becomes available.
The Chizza, which looks like is should be pronounced “Cheese-a” but I guess is actually pronounced “Cheet-za”, will be released in the United States market on February 26th 2024.
But while researching this, I discovered that KFC has actually had this item on the menu in their restaurants in the Phillipines since like 2017 (although with ham and ‘special sauce’ as opposed to pepperoni).
Various incarnations of KFC pizzas have also been available in other markets where restaurant menus obviously varies.

The Food Explora in me is here for the Chizza despite its high fat, high protein, salt content. KFC over the years has been trying desperately to reinvent their menu line. Popeyes and other restaurants have been knocking down 1 KFC at a time their menu options. I like KFC and hope to try this chizza pizza/sandwiches.
