So far, I am loving the final season of Star Wars: Bad Batch!
(Obvious Spoiler Warning: Possible Bad Batch Final Season spoilers ahead)
I especially like where they are going with the ‘M-Count in clones’ angle as a way to tie-in the prequel era material with the post Return of the Jedi material.
It is almost as if Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau learned from MCU head Kevin Fiege that it is important to have a long term strategy when universe building. As opposed to changing the antagonist halfway though a trilogy and winding up with dialogue like this:
Lets give Filoni and Favreau credit for tying to retcon a hastily written massive plot hole into something that makes sense.
We know they are working on a Mandalorian and Grogu movie that will tie Favreau’s The Mandolorian and Filoni’s Clone Wars projects together, and we are starting to see how that is going to work (cough…M-Count…Cough).
It got me thinking how awesome a Star Wars: Bad Batch live-action movie would look and who should play our favorite batch of ‘defective clones.’
Obviously casting Temuera Morrison to play every character wouldn’t work logistically and would make the film hard for the audience to follow.
But since this batch of clones were the ‘defects’, actors only need to somewhat resemble each other for the film to work.
Kinda like the whole Transitive Law we learned in Algebra. If A = B and B = C, then A = C but with A, B and C being actors fairly resembling each other.
For Example:
Ok…maybe the Transitive Law angle needs a few more specific details to apply in that case…
Here is the Perfect Star Wars Bad Batch Cast!
Hugh Jackman as Hunter
Hard to think that there is a crappy parallel universe out there where original Wolverine actor Dougray Scott never go injured filming Mission Impossible 2 and we never had the last minute replacement casting of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
That is a slice of the multiverse that I never want to live in my friends….
Dave Bautista as Wrecker
Remember how awesome former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista was as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, I say have him apply the same attributes to Wrecker in the Star Wars universe…minus the body paint.
Mark Strong as Tech
Basically this is Mark Strong playing the same character he played in The Kingsman movies.

Dylan McDermott as Echo
While Dylan McDermott may not be the most versatile actor in the hemisphere, I do believe he has the looks and chops to pull off our favorite bionically enhanced Bad Batch member.
Adrien Brody Crosshair
When I first went to see Predators in the theater and realized Adrien Brody was the lead, I think my reaction was the same as everyone else’s: “Really? The Pianist guy?”
But I do think he played the part of ‘the weathered soldier who has lost faith in the world’ character well. While Predators had many things wrong with it (shame Danny Glover didn’t want to reprise his role of Mike Harrigan and the part had to be re-written for Laurence Fishbourne), Brody’s character was not one of them.
??? as Omega
I was trying to think of a female version of Christian Convery of Netfix’s Sweet Tooth, but couldn’t come up with a perfect selection. Mostly because I don’t know many child actors and didn’t want a search for “Cute Young Female Child Actresses” on my search history….
The role of the young female M-count positive clone Omega would probably be best filled with a new unknown talent via an open casting call. It would be some good P.R. for Lucasfilm to show they are trying to pump new talent into the Star Wars universe as well.

Cillian Murphy as Dr. Hemlock
While researching for this post I was unable to determine if Christopher Nolan is contractually obligated to cast Cillian Murphy in all his movies or if he just does so on his own accord.
Either way, Murphy has become very well known from his repeated castings by Nolan and has the looks, voice and mannerisms to play a convincing Dr. Hemlock on the big screen.
Ming-na Wen as Fennec Shand (Obviously)
This one was so obvious that it sort of feels like cheating, but fortunately Ming-Na’s ageless beauty makes her versatile enough to play bounty hunter Fennec Shand as a 30, 40, 50 or 60 year old.
And I don’t mind any excuse to research pictures of her. Just gorgeous…
Temuera Morrison as Rex and his crew
Original Jengo Fett/current Boba Fett/Cody/literally every clone trooper who wasn’t “defective” actor Temuera Morrison can step into the role of Captain Rex and his crew for a live action go. CG magic should make creating a half dozen or so Morrison’s easy and real enough to convince the audience. And just a few clone troopers in cameo parts shouldn’t confuse the audience.
I’m just going to refer to him as “Clone Trooper Prime” for now on.
