Remember people: THE INTERNET NEVER FORGETS!!!
Marvel has fired writer/director James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy III after conservative personalities have unearthed offensive 10-year-old social media posts from Gunn. The posts included jokes about topics such as rape and pedophelia.

“The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him,” Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said in a statement Friday.
Gunn, who was currently finishing the script for Guardians III, did not deny making the posts and even stated on his Twitter account “Many people who have followed my career know when I started, I viewed myself as a provocateur, making movies and telling jokes that were outrageous and taboo. As I have discussed publicly many times, as I’ve developed as a person, so has my work and my humor.”
He added: “It’s not to say I’m better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger. My days saying something just because it’s shocking and trying to get a reaction are over.”
Conservative personalities, such as Jack Posobiec, have been advocating for followers to confront Gunn about the controversial tweets this weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con, where Gunn was scheduled to make an appearance.

So far Disney (Marvel’s parent company) has not announced who they plan to use to replace Gunn at the helm their profitable Guardians of the Galaxy series. The first two installments have been massive successes, raking in over $1.6 Billion (with a ‘B’) combined.
