I love to over analyze and dissect little interesting Star Wars tidbits!
In the Star Wars universe, “Jedi” is referred to as both singular and plural.
This left an air of mystery with the official title of “Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi”. Is the title referring to Luke? Rey? Finn? Kylo Ren? Some combination of them? Since plural is 2 or more, maybe some new characters in the film will also be revealed to be Jedi. (See my previous fan theory article on Benicio Del Toro’s role).
Well a clue has been revealed now the the official “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” French (and more recently Spanish) Twitter accounts have gone live.
With the official title containing “Les Derniers”, which is a plural form referring to the noun Jedi, we know that the title is NOT referring to just one Jedi.
Shortly after @StarWarsFR revealed this title, @StarWarsSpain also announced the official episode VIII title “Los Ultimos Jedi”, which is also the plural form.
Regardless of the specifics of the title, one thing is for certain: the movie’s release date of Dec 15th 2017 can’t come soon enough!
