The Last Blockbuster Video Is Now An Airbnb 90’s Time Capsule!

Caveat: This is for September 2020 only. (Maybe 2020 has some redemption in it yet)

Remember way back in the day (pre-Netflix) when you needed to physically go to a brick ‘n’ mortar location to borrow physical copies of your favorite movies and TV shows (for 3 nights only)? Remember needing to rewind the tapes before returning them or facing the harsh penalty of a $3 handling fee?

Well nostalgia is alive and well in Bend, Oregon, where the last remaining Blockbuster Video will be offered up on Airbnb this September for the perfect 90’s themed sleepover.

The offer is a ‘thank you’ from the store’s management to their community for all their support over the decades.

“In appreciation for all that the local community has recently done to support the last-of-its-kind during these uncertain times, this end of summer sleepover will offer movie lovers in Deschutes County the chance for a 90s-themed stay to relive the bygone Friday night tradition just as we remember it,” read a press release.

Starting August 17th, residents can reserve a night (September 18th, 19th or 20th) and have the entire store just to themselves (including access to all the snacks and candy!)

The Bend Oregon BlockBuster location is the last remaining outpost of this once dominate industry. The location is so resistant, it even managed to stay open during this year’s COVID-19 pandemic (thanks to lots and lots of disinfectant wipes) as a beacon of normalcy for their community.
