Woman Arrested For Driving An Inflatable Pool Around With Children Inside!

Free Public Service Announcement: When transporting an inflatable pool on the roof of your car, a couple dollars worth of twine is a much better way to secure the pool than your 2 unsecured daughters!

As the parent of a toddler and a newborn, there are definitely mornings where I feel like I have no idea what I am doing. Then I read about idiots like this, and I feel so much better about the parenting job I am doing.

In today’s example of “How Not To Parent”, the Dixon Police responded to reports from concerned citizens about a white SUV driving around with children sitting in an unsecured inflatable pool on the vehicle’s roof. Unbelievably, these reports turned out to be true!

Officers searched the area and found a white Audi Q5 with a blue inflatable pool on the roof with two unsecured juveniles inside of the pool.

Officers pulled over the vehicle and interviewed the driver, which I can only imagine the responding officer’s initial question was something along the lines of “What The Heck Is Wrong With You?!?”

The driver at least had a logical answer… well…logical to her at least, maybe not the rest of humanity…

Her rationale for having her juvenile daughters ride unsecured inside the inflatable pool on the roof of her car (rather than in car seats inside the vehicle like normal human beings), was that that she needed their weight to hold the pool down after inflating it at a friend’s house.

If you think that answer sounds breathtakingly stupid, that is simply because it is breathtakingly stupid.

I apologize for not having any dash cam or body cam footage of the interaction. Believe me, I have searched for some! A still photo is the best I could do, so here it is again.

Jennifer A. Janus Yeager, age 49, was arrested on July 9th, 2019, for two counts of Endangering the Health or Life of a Child and two counts of Reckless Conduct. Yeager was also cited for failure to secure a passenger of the age of 8 and under the age of 16. Jennifer A. Janus Yeager, age 49, was arrested on July 9th, 2019,

Hey! She is already wearing prison stripes!

I believe the police department tried to make 1 count of “being a friggin’ idiot” stick as well, but apparently “being a friggin’ idiot” is not an actual law on the books in the State of Illinois. Maybe that is something for the voters of the State to keep in mind next election.

Anyway, in the meantime, please keep in mind a couple bucks invested in some twine or bungee cords now could avoid embarrassing incidents like this in the future.

Just throwing that out there.

Just on example of Bungee Cord bundles available on Amazon.com for like $12

Other recent examples of motor vehicle fails include the DUI involving a Power Wheels toy and the woman who stole a motorized shopping cart from Walmart to go to Waffle House.
