Day 1 of the 2019 Motor City Comic Con is in the books and it was a ton of fun!
Plenty of independent artists, writers and publishers exposing their talents, lots of toy and collectible dealers (what exactly is the lure of Funko Pops?) comic book and media celebrities, comic book vendors (my favorite) and of course, the cosplay!
I had the great fortune to meeting The Geek Stress (while we endured the long wait for the doors to open) and hearing about their adventures to other conventions, including San Diego Comic Con, AKA The Avengers Endgame of comic book conventions!
Although we missed each other at the con, our friend Mera Belle Cosplay had another strong showing, as she always does.
Batman and his rogues gallery always have strong showings at conventions. From the uber creepy Arkham Asylum to the campy, kid-friendly 60′s Batman
Science fiction shows were represented as well with Star Trek, The Orville, and (of course) Dr. Who. Even a Darth Maul and a radio controlled R2-D2!
I think my favorite cosplayer of the day through with this Dr. Hank Pym complete with mobile lab!

Comic Cons are my FAVE! My family goes to San Diego Comic Con every year. This one looks like so much fun 🙂

Very jealous, I have never been to the San Diego Comic Con. I tried getting tickets a few times before I had a kid, but never successful. I think they have a lottery system now

Comic Cons are always fun. One of my favorite parts is seeing all the vintage toys from when I grew up.

I’ve always wanted to go to a comic con but haven’t done that yet. I love Gambit’s light up cards! Gambit was one of my faves when I was a kid 🙂
