Natural Light’s (AKA Natty Light) brand manager Leon is looking to pay some “outgoing , but not annoying” interns $40 per hour this summer!
According to the new recruiting video, Leon says requirements to be “Natty-Certified” aren’t all that high. “Do we like awesome grades? Sure” he says. “But on top of that we want an ambitious, scrappy trailblazer. We’re running Natty Light, not your uncle’s accounting firm.”
Requirements are: 21 years or older (obviously), “be outgoing, but not annoying,” “be able to spell protractor,” and “just be cool.” A love for the taste of Natty Light was not specified, but since the position involves “product research duties” (i.e. drinking beer), I’d imagine it is strongly encouraged.
It has been a while since I have savored a the taste of a Natty Light (college), but from what I remember, ‘Natty Light was to good beer’ as ‘Chef Boyardee was to authentic Italian food.’
But hey, different strokes for different folks…
Also, beyond a having a healthy liver, it sounds like a healthy understanding of social media and YouTube will also be necessary.
Throughout the two month-long internship program (it runs June 10 through August 2), the intern will serve as a brand ambassador, attending events and creating “fire viral content” for Natty Light’s social channels. You’ll also update Leon (the brand manager) on trends, design swag, host a weekly vlog, and drink heavily…err…I mean conduct product research.
No word about the dress code…

Their recruitment video certainly matches what I’d expect to resonate with their target audience. I’m not that audience and I certainly cringed. Way to be a douche to Carl, cause that’s an acceptable workplace way to reject someone’s idea. Slightly surprising in today’s world.
