If you have seen the first Deadpool movie (and shame on you if you haven’t), I shouldn’t have to warn you, but the trailer contains strong language.
I thought the first Deadpool movie was hilarious. Ryan Reynolds was at his Van Wilder-esuqe, plenty of action, plenty of poking fun at the comic book movie genre, Stan Lee cameo and easter eggs galore.
Well the preview for Deadpool 2 contains all those same elements wrapped up in a convenient 3 1/2 minute package. We have the Easter eggs of “Logan” on the matinee of the theater and Nathan Summers (Cable – who is rumored to be Pierce Brosnan) written on the phone booth. Even the Stan Lee cameo.
Going into Deadpool 2 the only real question mark will be how much of the humor will remain now that the original director Tim Miller has been replaced with John Wick director David Leitch. In order for Deadpool to remain successful, the production team will need to continue their blend of humor with cartoonish violence without going overly dark.
I know I am counting down the days to the release!
