Unfortunately ambushes of police officers have been on the rise the past couple years and Dodge is repurposing some technology to help protect officers.
Their new Officer Protection Package will repurpose existing rear-facing ultrasonic parking assist sensors to alert officers when someone is approaching the vehicle from behind.
When the system is tripped, a chime will sound, the rear camera will turn on, windows will close and the doors will lock.
